The Import tool allows the user to move 3d printing geometry into Google SketchUp. This can be useful for checking a model before 3D printing, compositing mulitple parts in Google Sketchup or basic modification before 3d printing.
If you are a CADspan Pro user, the Import tool will currently import Binary STL files as wells as CADspan resurfaced files. To enable to generic STL import please click on the CADspan icon in the tool bar and log on to your account. Once your account status is verified, you will immediately be able to import STL files. If you cannot import an STL please check that the file is a binary not ASCII STL.
If you are a free user, the import tool can only read STL files written by the CADspan Resurfacer. Always check the Resurfacer's output with the Import Geometry tool before 3D printing.
